The Ruger AR556MPR features a lower receiver fitted with Magpul MOE grip and MOE SL collapsible buttstock on a milspec buffer tube. The Handguard is free-floating for accuracy and the slim, 15" length provides enhanced ergonomics and support. The Flat-top upper receiver includes a Forward Assist, Dust Cover, and Brass Deflector. This rifle features the Ruger Elite 452 AR-Trigger and is a two-stage trigger w/4.5# trigger pull.
There are Magpul M-LOK accessory attachment slots along the two sides and bottom of the handguard with additional slots on angled faces near the muzzle. The 1:8" twist rate stabilizes bullets ranging from 35 to 77 grains, and the 5.56 NATO chamber permits the use of 223Rem and 5.56 NATO ammunition. The Bolt Carrier and its' Gas Key inside diameters are chrome-plated to provide exceptional resistance to hot gases. The Ruger Muzzle Brake is a radial port design that significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle movement. The 1/2"-28 threaded barrel allows for standard muzzle accessories to be installed.
